Memorial Day Weekend

I was on call for work over Memorial Day weekend so we could really go anywhere. The girls wanted to go camping so bad but, as usual, it rained. So, we couldn't even camp in the backyard. Jeff has this little two man tent so he set it up in the living room so the girls could "go camping." We made some carmel popcorn and enjoyed an nice relaxing weekend. The girls had a great time.

Alexa Turns 7!!

Alexa turned 7 on May 27th. I can hardly believe that she is 7, already. She is such a great kid and such a blessing to our family. Here are some pictures of her Family Birthday party.

Opening her golf clubs from Jeff , me, and Avery. She is usually good at anything she tries. She loves to go golfing with Jeff, mostly to roll down all the hills and drive the golf cart. We decided maybe she would like to start golfing. She can hit the ball pretty far while I still struggle to get the ball of off the dang tee.

Polly Pockets! She loves her Polly's and has a million of them for Libby to chew on!

She got this doll from Grandpa Matthews' friend June. The doll came from Taiwan and she thinks it is the neatest thing ever.

Okay, this is my attempt at a Hannah Montana Guitar Cake. She put the request in for this cake months ago. Alexa thought it was perfect. It turned out okay but not near as cute as the one my cousin made. At any rate, it tasted awesome!
Seven things we love about Alexa....
1. She is very sympathetic to other people's needs.
2. She always tells us that she loves us.
3. She is very smart and a quick learner.
4. She loves to try new things.
5. She can hula-hoop like nobody else.
6. She is a very talented dancer.
7. She is a great kid!
Alexa, you are such a blessing to our family and we can't imagine our lives without you. We love watching you learn and grow. You have a lot of potential! Thank you for being you! We love you!

Avery's Preschool Program

Avery had her preschool program on May 21st. For those of you who saw our post of Avery's Christmas Preschool Program, you can understand how nervous we were for her to participate. Much to our surprise she sang every song and did a great job. It was so fun to watch her and see how much she has grown in the past 6 months. She is kind of young for her class, as her birthday is on the 29th of August. She barely meets the deadline of September 1st. We put her in the class just as a test run to see how she would do and Mrs. Burnham says she did great and can definitely go on to the four year old preschool class. Yea! We are really excited for her. She has made some really good friends.

This is Avery waiting to get her Participation Certificate.

Avery singing her little heart out!

Avery posing before her program started. She is such a funny kid!

Avery with her best friend! Such sweet girls!

Dancing Recital

Alexa and Avery had their dancing recital on May 9th. This was Avery's first full blown recital. She was super excited and it was nice to be able to watch the entire thing instead of fighting with Avery during the entire recital. She had a great time with all her little friends.

This is Avery dancing to "Good Ship Lollipop." She is so cute when she is dancing. She has the time of her life and I love to see how happy it makes her.

This is Alexa dancing to the "Flinstones." She has always been an amazing dancer and this time was no different. She is such a natural. We love to watch her dance.

Alexa and Avery before they got to dance. Avery is such a ham!

This is Avery dancing to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." So precious! She danced like an angel.

This is Alexa dancing to "Mambo Number 5." This was her favorite dance. She absolutely loved her costume. She has some serious hip action going on.

Our girls right before the recital started. They had to have their pictures taken with all the stage decorations.

Avery is so happy to finally be a dancer!

Playing Catch Up!

Here are a few pictures of Libby with her sister Fancy. We were able to watch Fancy over night during the month of May and the two of them played and played and played. It's hard to believe that they are sisters. They look nothing alike, other than their long bodies. Fancy actually looks like a daschund and Libby looks like a daschund mixed with a cocker spaniel. They have a great time together and they sleep like babies after a long day of playing nonstop.

Happy Father's Day

I can't believe that it is Father's Day, already. Time is flying by. I just wanted to wish Jeff and my Dad, Father-in-law, and our Grandpas Happy Father's Day. My kids and I are so lucky to have such amazing men in our lives. Alexa and Avery absolutely adore their dad. He was gone for most of the Father's Day weekend with his Cross Country runners and the girls kept asking me "when is dad going to be home?" They kept telling me how boring it is without dad and how much they missed him. They just couldn't wait for him to get home. This past school year Alexa was able to tang a long with Jeff to a lot of his activites. She loves every moment she gets to spend with him. I asked Avery the other day what she loves most about her dad and her reply was "he is the best dad in the whole world!" Here are some funny things that you might want to know about Jeff according to his little girls.....

Alexa says "he sings all the time, he makes up songs about everything. He listens to me read. He always hogs the couch and always changes my cartoons to sports. But, I still love him so much."

Avery says "he has stinky feet. He always makes me pick up my toys and he always helps clean my room. He makes me laugh. I love my daddy."

What a blessing to have such an amazing dad. My girls and I are so lucky to have him. I enjoy watching them together and I can't imagine our lives he other way. Happy Father's Day, Dad (Jeff). We love you!

A little tidbit about my Dad...I have one of the neatest dad's in the entire world. He is such a great example to me and my family. He has taught me so many things about how I should treat people and life in general. He is always willing to do anything for anybody. He has helped Jeff and I with so many things in our home. He never complains about anything. He is very accepting of everyone. Our girls love Papa G and love to go on rides with him in his toy (Razor). We are so thankful that he is ours. We love you Papa G (Dad)!!

Where did May go?

Honestly, May is one of the craziest months of the year. I have millions of updates to do with lots of pictures to post. But, where does all my time go? I promise updates are coming. I just need to find a minute to sit down and download them. Stay tuned......
