Our trip to Boise

We went to Boise this last weekend for the Girls State Basketball Tournament. The girls and I went up with my parents on Thursday. Jeff came on Friday night with our friends, John and Becca Sweers. If we weren't watching Basketball Games, we were swimming in the pool.

Alexa swam like a fish. Here she is jumping in. After a few years of swimming lessons, she has really learned to love the water. I am so happy since I am scared to death of water.

Notice, there are no pictures of Jeff and me in our swim suits. Due to our flabby bodies ,we decided to leave those ones out of the post.

Alexa and Avery's Valentine Surprise!

On Sunday February 15th, we had another Valentine Surprise for the girls. We blind folded them and took them for a little drive. We were watching Carrie's kids so they got to come along for the surprise.

Jeff took the long way to our destination to try and throw the girls off a little bit. He didn't want them to know where we were going. We ended up at Robert and Sue Clark's house for their big surprise.

It's a new Puppy!!

Here are some pictures of the one the girls picked out. She is black with tan on her belly. She is adorable. She is only a week and two days old in these pictures. The girls already have a named picked out for her. The want to name her Libby. Her mom's name is Tibbie, so they really liked the name Libby. We don't get to bring her home until she is six weeks old (around March 20th). The girls were so excited and remind us everyday that we are getting a new puppy named, Libby.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Every year on Valentine's Day we have a candlelight dinner with our girls. It is complete with place card settings and all sorts of yummy food. This year for our dinner we had lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and to top it off we had chocolate covered strawberries. It was delicious. For our drink, I made a strawberry slush drink. Avery helped me make heart shaped ice cubes out of Sprite and food coloring for our drink. When we put it all together in the punch bowl, it was dang cute. The girls loved the heart shaped ice cubes. We also decorate the table with all kinds of Valentine decorations. It turns out to be a very special evening that the girls look forward to every year!

No Cavities!!

The girls and Jeff had there 6 month checkups on February 6th. This was Avery's first time visiting the dentist. Everyone was cavity free. We are so lucky to have such an awesome dentist. (He is also a Cross Country Coach.) Our girls pretty much take over the office while they are there. They get run the dentist chair and some of the tools, make little critters out of blown up latex gloves, and they also get a new toy. WOW! What a fun day!

A Day with Dad!

Jeff decided to brave the cold and take both girls ice fishing with him and his dad. They were tough little girls. Jeff got them up around 5:00 am and got them ready for their day of fishing. It turned out to be a beautiful day. The girls had a great time and I think Jeff enjoyed himself, too.




Jeff shoveled a "track" around their fishing holes so the girls had a place to run, and run, and run some more.

I'm Italian?!?!

I was changing my blog background and it reminded me of a funny story about Jeff. I love to share Jeff's goof ups because they are usually very rare. We were in Boise for a wedding probably 8 years ago and I was driving him back to our motel. (We usually argue when he is driving in downtown Boise.) We had just passed an Italian restaurant and Jeff proudly said, " you know that I am Italian, right?" I said "you aren't Italian, you're Irish." He looked at me kind of confused. And then he said, "Oh....you're right." (He finally admitted that I was right about something. ) His mom's maiden name is O'Brien. Sounds pretty Irish to me. Anyway, we laughed for a long time. One of those "you had to be there moments," I guess. He was just so proud to be Italian, which I don't blame him. I love everything Italian. Long story short, Jeff is Irish not Italian! So, now Jeff is proud to be Irish. I am so glad we got that cleared up!

Slacker!

Sorry, I have been such a slacker. The Horsley's have been crazy busy. We have some exciting things coming up, our Annual Candlelight Valentine's Day Dinner and a trip to Boise for Girls State Basketball. So, hopefully I can get some pictures posted. The newest news in our family is that my sister Kim is having twins. Alexa and Avery are so excited for two new little cousins. When I told Avery that Kim was having two babies she said, " Holy my molely, can they come to my daycare so I can help take care of them?" Too, cute! I am really excited for Kim and Ryan. Twin girls would be fun, but I am secretly hoping for twin boys!
