William Jaxson Horsley
born on March 10th at 6:25 am.
He weighed 6lbs. 9 oz. and was
20 1/2 inches long.

I don't know very many preemies that are born with a double chin. Obviously, I have been eating well. You can also see some of the bruising on his face around his nose and mouth. He came pretty quick and I guess that this is one of the things that can happen. The nurses thought that he was have some respiratory problems and sent him to the NICU for a bit for some tests and some oxygen. It turned out that everything was okay. His bruising is all but gone, now.

One of my awesome nurses. She was with me through most of my labor and left about an hour and a half before I delivered. She came back to visit us the next day. She was really sweet.
Jeff is such a proud daddy. He was a real trooper with his sleeping accommodations and lack of sleep. He has always been a great help with all of our kids. I have been really lucky!
The intern, Dr. Brian Muir, that helped with my delivery. He was amazing. He was very friendly and helped with a lot of questions that Jeff and I had.

How it all happened...
On Tuesday, March 9th, I went to my dance class. I have been dancing once a week during my entire pregnancy preparing for a "Mother-Daughter" dance in May. Usually, during dance I would have some Braxton Hicks contractions and this night was no different. I thought that since I was getting closer to my due date, I would take it easy this time. I would dance for a bit and then sit for a bit. I didn't feel any different than I had during any other dance class. Jeff was in McCammon at a Coaches Meeting and my Mom and Dad had our girls. I picked the girls up after dance class around 9:00 and headed home. Jeff was already home. I put the girls to bed and went and took a bath. When I went to get out of the tub, my water broke. Normally, I have to have my water broke for me at the hospital after I have had horrible contractions for many hours. Not this time. Jeff called the hospital and my Mom. We had nothing prepared. No bags were packed. No formal plans had been made of who would take our kids. We were lucky that we had chosen his name a few nights before and bought his carseat just a few weeks before that. My Mom came and helped us get the girls ready and helped me get a few things together. I wanted my Mom to be with me during delivery so Jeff called his Mom and she came and got the girls.
We headed to Pocatello around 10:00 pm. My contractions started getting pretty frequent around Lava. When we got to the hospital, I was only dialated to a three. But, they confirmed that my water did in fact break. (It's not really rocket science.) I continued to dialated pretty quick and I continued to remind them that I was having an epidural. I get nausea when I have contractions until I get an epidural. So, finally I got my epidural around 1:30 am. My contractions slowed down a lot after my epidural. So, I was able to get about a hour nap. Around 6:00 am I was finally dialated to a 10 and was able to start pushing. I pushed for about 25 minutes. And, at 6:25 am our sweet little Jaxson arrived. My labor only lasted 9 hours. Jeff tells every one that is a PR for me. (He is a running coach, obviously.) Jaxson is so dang cute. He is such a good baby for the whole 5 days that he has been here. I love on him every chance I get and I seriously can't get enough of him. I can't believe we have a son. I have some great little helpers and things couldn't get much better. We have had lots of visits and tons of help from family and friends. And, lots of great food. We have been so blessed and our grateful everyday for our little family.
